Growing Your Money Making Online Business

You’ve got your money making online business started.  Now you want to grow it into something that will earn you a real income. How can you do it?

Well, most things you read give you a couple of different ideas on this.  Two of the best ideas are affiliate marketing selling someone else’s product and buying your own reprint rights product and selling it on ebay or Craig’s list.  Also, you can buy and sell stuff on ebay or you can sell drop ship stuff as an affiliate of Amazon or similar vendors.  All of these can help you build your money making online business.  It also depends on where you have started.

But let’s be honest.

You have certainly heard of one hit wonders.  Usually, a rock band that really makes it big with one song.  Then when its popularity fades, they’re never heard of again.

making money online business can be the same.  When you first start out, your focus is on getting started and trying to be profitable quickly.  It makes good sense as a start up plan.  But once you get off the ground, you need to change your focus.  You need to stop thinking about the quick buck and start thinking about growing your money making business business so that it will build your income steadily over the long term.

There are a lot of steps you can take to build your long term money making business, but the first one to take is through back end selling.

Your back end consists of the additional sale or sales that you make after or maybe at the same time you sell your initial product.  Your back end is where your making money online business will make the most money in the long run.  So how does this all work?

To understand this you need to consider your marketing program as a sales funnel.  You pour a lot of stuff into the funnel’s big opening at the top, and it comes out of the smaller opening at the bottom.  But a sales funnel has a lot of leaks.  Not everything comes out the bottom.

Think of the first product you sell to a new buyer as the entry point to your funnel.  You price it relatively low, so lots of people buy it.  That’s the wide end of the funnel.

What you want to do is to migrate those buyers to more expensive products so you can make more money on each repeat sale to those customers.  Along the way you can also sell your customer additional products at the same or similar prices at any level of your funnel.

Not every customer will migrate all the way to the most expensive product you sell, and some who do will only buy one of your most expensive products instead of buying them all.  That’s why you can think of your funnel as having leaks.  Not every customer who enters it makes it all the way to the bottom.

But the funnel concept give you a nice picture of what you are trying to do.  You want to sell more products to exiting customers and migrate as many of those customers as possible to more expensive product over time.

Your funnel has different levels, where you sell different products at different price points.  So your initial sale is just the beginning.  If you are going to build a real money making online business, you need to develop your back end sales.  When you’ve done that, you’ve began to build a serious long term money making online business.

Building a List For Your Making Money Online Business – 4 Crucial Steps

Opt-in Email List Building - Let Marketing Our Visions Show You How

Money making online businesses seem to be booming.  Every day there are more people entering this market.  Unemployment is up and I would guess that many of the unemployed are trying to offset their lost job by money making online.  For the money making online marketer this is both an opportunity and a challenge.  It is an opportunity because every day there are more potential customers who are looking to buy your money making online marketing products.  It is a challenge because every day the competition gets tougher.

To meet the challenge you must develop your niche and find potential customers interested in your niche that you can entice to follow your web site or blog.  You need to develop a list of these customers so you can market your products to them.  In order to develop your list, you must have an “opt-in” form on your web site or blog for readers who like your web site or blog content enough to want more information and will sign in for it.  Your form must require your reader’s name and email address so you can send them your marketing information later.

This sounds simple enough, but there are four crucial things you need to do in order to build your list.

1. Put up a good “opt-in” web form on your site or blog either right after your content or along side of it.  Use an auto responder such as AWeber for your form to gather each signer’s name and email address, and later send them your eventual marketing emails.  AWeber’s and other auto responders’ forms will permit you to edit them so that your enticement to sign in fits your marketing program.

2. Make your opt-in page impressive.  Whether you are using a squeeze page, your web site’s home page or your blog, this page need to knock your reader’s socks off.  It should have good graphics, but not over the top graphics.  It should be clean without a lot of advertising or other extraneous stuff that will get your reader off track.  Remember, your goal is for your reader to opt-in, nothing else.  Make it classy.

Your web site’s articles, or your blog’s posts, in other words content, must be well written, without grammatical, spelling or punctuation errors.  Make your content compelling with strong, interesting and authoritative articles.

If you are using a web site, it must be easy to use and navigate.  If not, you will lose your readers.

3. Provide good and useful products and back them up with good service.  You want to provide as much value for your customer’s money as you can.  If your customer’s feel they have received extra value, they will return for more products and they will spread the word to their friends and acquaintances.  It’s the best kind of promotion for your business that you can have.

4. Keep a clean and private list.  Never lose sight of the fact that your customers have relied on you not to spam them nor to give away their email addresses so that someone else can spam them.  Remember that a good reputation is gold.  It will bring in more traffic and subscribers and strengthen the loyalty of your customers.

Follow these crucial steps and you will build a long list of loyal subscribers and along with it a successful Money Making Online business.

Online Money Making – Getting Traffic

Here's Your Traffic Signal - Marketing Our Visions Will Direct You To Your New Business.

Competition in online money making marketing has gotten fierce. Everyone is fighting for traffic and many don’t get much.  Without more traffic these online money making efforts are doomed to go under.

So here are four ways the online marketer can develop traffic.

1. Go after the search engines.  It’s all in the key words and long tailed key word phrases.  Using Google’s Key Word Tool you can identify the key words and key word phrases that will work the best.  I do not mean to pick those that get the most searches.  On the contrary, you want to find the key words and key word phrases that get just enough searches so that using them you can get a high ranking.  Maybe it’s around a couple of hundred searches a month.  Try them out until you get the level of  traffic you are looking for.

2. Pay for click advertising.  Here, of course, you also need to use the key words and key word phrases that you identified in you efforts to get a good search engine ranking.  Start small with a minimum budget until you find ads that work for you.  Google has a lot of advice on their Adwords site.  You should read it all and follow it.

3. Viral Marketing.  To start with this is getting your friends and acquaintances and, of course, family involved.  In addition sign up for several of the social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, and others and get tweeting.  You can get all the information online on how to set up automatic tweets, but in addition you need to get yourself directly involved and create relationships with other participants.  Once you achieve a level of trust with some of them, they may become your customers and drive traffic to your door.

4. Develop a list.  Once traffic starts to arrive, have an opt-in page to develop of list.  This is the gold of internet marketing.  With a list you can periodically send out offers, freebies and news to keep your list happy and money in your pocket.

So this is a start.  Use these tips to get off the ground and build your online business into a truly successful online money making business.

The Best Cell Phones on the Market Today

20070831-kokoelma-iso

Everyone is always asking everyone else, “What cell phone should I buy?”

I don’t claim to be an expert, but when I was looking for a cell phone recently, I did some research which I thought I should share.

Of course, what cell phone to buy is an almost  impossible question to answer because everyone’s needs and uses of a cell phone are different.  A business user obviously has different needs and uses than a non business user.  Email is much more important for a business customer, while the non business customer may be more interested in music and video capabilities.  My son uses his IPhone for everything.  He even makes telephone calls on it.  Others probably are only interested in the telephone capabilities.

Another important aspect is service provider coverage. A customer who does not travel isn’t concerned with service coverage all over the country, while a traveling business person is very concerned with the quality of coverage in ares where he expects to travel.

Anyway, considering these factors, here are some suggested cell phones to start your search.

•    Apple iPhone.  Apple has set the benchmark and shaken up the industry.  Their iPhone does everything they say it does, and will do more as you add more apps.
•    Palm Treo 750. It’s a mobil phone office with great overall usability.
•    Blackberry 8800. It’s greatly improved with GPS and Wi-Fi.  The only downside is that Singular disables the Wi-Fi built into the hardware and forces you to use their EDGE network.
•    Blackberry Curve 8300. Everyone who had one has been blown away by its looks and usability. It has all the known Blackberry features plus many more.  The best data device on the market today. (But if WiFi gets you going wait until the 8320 is launched.)
•    Blackberry Pearl 8100. Shrink the Curve, color it black, white or cranberry and you have the Pearl except it’s one generation slower with a smaller camera.  But at half the price and the size of the Curve it’s can be a great solution. (There’s also a faster version rumored to be out soon.
•    Blackberry 8830. For the world traveller this Blackberry has one of best email programs of any cell phone.  You can use it internationally by sliding in a card you purchase abroad.
•    Samsung Blackjack 1600.  Good features in a thin case.
•    Sony Ericsson P1. This is a great improvement over older series P phones and has a lot of bang for your buck.
•    Nokia E61i The sleek form is nice though not great looking. It has flawless support for office software, video and audio support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and Memory extension all for a fair price.
•    Sony Ericsson W580i. Much improved over previous Sony cell phones, this phone is great inside and out  and if you don’t need a Blackberry, this could be your number one choice.
•    Motorola A1200i. If you want a PDA phone with a strong operating system (linux mobile) and powerful applications, check this one out.
•    Treo 700w/700wx. With Windows OS you can create, edit, send, and receive Word, Excel and Powerpoint files as well as emails.
•    LG vx-8700. If you are looking for a stylish, sleek good performing phone that makes and receives calls with text messages and nothing else, this is the phone for you.
•    Nokia N95. This phone has tremendous potential and a good search engine. It’s cameras a good enough for real photography and has been used by reporters on the go.  Serious business users should really check it out.
•    HTC Artemis P3300. This is another phone for serious business users.  Super slim It has everything you might need for business use.

But, before you get out the Yellow Pages to go looking for the phone in this list that has caught your eye, you need to dig into some more research.

Hopefully, you have a Broadcast Nation near enough so you can pay them a visit. Read the articles there and search the archives. You’ll find individual cell phone reviews, how to find deals on family plans and online resources for comparing cell phones and providers. You can also find a great little online tool which will help you find pricing details for every cell phone available in your location. It will show any rebates, family plans and special offers. This free online tool also shows all the accessories you might ever consider. You just search your zip code.

I hope you have found this article helpful  I wish you good luck in making your final decision.

Managing Your Online Money Making Business – Determining Product Profitability

productprofits

Trying to figure out how much your online money making products are earning for you requires a bit of accounting.  I know that when the subject of accounting comes up it usually is greeted by a lot of big yawns.  Unfortunately, it is the language of business so you can yawn at the thought of having to learn some accounting if you want to, but you kind of need to suck it up and pay a little attention.  In fact it’s not half as bad as you may think.  You already know the basics and maybe as much as you really need to know.  It’s just that you need to think about it some.

To start with you know the basic elements.  You know what your sales are, and what  costs are since you work hard to keep them under control.  You unfortunately know what taxes are, and, of course, you know what net income is or maybe even what a net loss is.  So you know all you really need to know of the basics of accounting.

When you start accounting for how much a product earns, you may run into some difficulties, however.  It’s easy if you have one product.  Then you can subtract all of your costs against the sales of your product, and your net income of the product is the same as the net income of your business.

However, how do you handle the problem of figuring out the profits earned by several online money making products.  It does get trickier.  Accountants, themselves, differ on how to do this.  I love simplicity.  And I feel that the simple solution gives the most meaningful results.  So I recommend that you do it this way.

First of all the direct costs associated with each product are usually pretty obvious.  If you bought an ebook or resell rights for something, the amount you paid for it is clearly a direct cost of that product.  This would also be the case for any costs for a graphic designer to design new cover for a product or add graphic design to the product.  The list could go on and on, but you will know when you have incurred a cost which is directly identifiable with one of your products.

The discussion become more complex and subject to different opinions when you look at costs which are associated with several products.  General overhead costs are clearly in this category.  Your rent, your secretary or assistant, probably your computer and general hardware and software used to operate and market all of your products are examples.

There are many accountants who love to allocate a portion of these kinds of costs to products to determine the net income of each product.  They may do it in a number of ways.  They might allocate them based on a percentage of income before these expenses that each one produced or they may try a more sophisticated  approach such as trying to determine how much time an employee works on each product, or the percentage of computer time each one used, etc.  It doesn’t matter.  If you need the employee to work on a number of products, he or she is overhead.  The same for your computers. You can’t carve out pieces of these costs and save them if you eliminated a product so they are overhead.

So I like to look at product profitability as how much a product contributes toward covering your overhead and profit.  If you do this, your total contribution of all of your products will not add up to to your net profit.  You will have to deduct your overhead and any costs that are associated with more that one product to arrive at net profit.  However, you will know what each product is worth to you. And it could be that a product seems to be a loss product, but still makes a positive contribution to cover your overhead.  So in fact it generates profit, and your net income is higher because of it.

The lesson is to be careful when you consider how much each of your products are earning for you.  If you use the contribution method explained above, it is simpler to apply and will give you more useful information to manage your online money making business.

Online Money Making Ideas – Some Thoughts on Selling

sellingMan

It’s not only in the online money making business, when we hear the word, “Selling”,  we automatically want to duck.  The average consumer doesn’t want to talk to salesmen, and even more, doesn’t even want to hear about them.  Strangely enough, most entrepreneurs don’t like the idea of selling to their customers any better.

We usually know when we are getting a sales pitch, and our first desire is to hide.  How often have you been in a store, and when the sales person asks, very nicely, if he or she can help you, even if you kind of need help,  your reaction is, “no”.  We all would rather look around the store to see if we can find what we are looking for before we’ll ask for help.  This is probably a man’s thing more than a woman’s, but it still is a very common reaction.

The fact is, however, that we all sell.  It is a critical part of every thing we do.  We are always selling ourselves to others without thinking about it.  We are always trying to convince our mates, our children and our friends of this or that.  That is selling.  The business world would not survive without it.  Every thing and idea that has ever been produced has had to be sold to the producer before he could produce it.  And then to the marketer before he could market it.  So in a way the world would not turn without selling.

So in order to move your great online money making product you must sell it.  And this requires a great sales message.  It won’t sell itself.  One of the great fallacies is that if you build a better mouse trap, the world will beat a path to your door.  First of all, how does the world find out about your better mouse trap?  You need a great sales message to convince the skeptical world that you have a better mouse trap.  And since the world is probably not going to come to your door, you need to point out to the world the benefits of your mouse trap for it to be convinced.  Again, it takes a great sales message to do this convincing.

So let’s talk about writing a great sales message for your online money making product. The following three simple rules will help to get you started.  However, before you get started you need to develop a sales mentality.  Be confident and positive and find your strong mental game before you start.

Rule 1. People Don’t Like Being Sold
Most people love to buy, but do not like being directly sold to.  Or said in another way, most people don’t like to know that they are the target of a sales pitch.  The buyer is in control to buy or not to buy and doesn’t like feeling like he is being pushed around or manipulated into buying.

Your sales message should be helpful in showing the customer how your product solves his problem or gives him something he needs or wants and makes him feel good about himself or his decision.  Your message should focus heavily on benefits, feelings and problem solving.

Rule 2. Focus on Emotional Triggers
Try to push the right emotional buttons.  Some experts believe that usually we don’t buy based on a logical decision, but more often on an emotional decision.  Then we use logic to justify our purchase.

For example a software application that can save time for an online money making business can push laziness and pride buttons.  Your message might stress the time your software can free up for other work.  Also, you can stress how slick this software is, and generate pride in the buyer in being able to show off his new software purchase.  You should try to push these emotional buttons with being tactless.

Rule 3. Emphasize the Benefits
This is probably the most important rule.  And remember it is not the features that you want to emphasize, but the benefits. It is the benefits such as earn money, and save time that provide real value to the buyer, not its features.

This goes hand in hand with the emotional buttons you have tried to push in Rule 2.  If you have pushed these buttons and you can convince your potential buyer that your product provides valuable benefits for a fair price, then you pretty much have made your sale.

In writing your sales message you should consider that there are two basic selling styles.  You many find that one or the other comes naturally to you.  Or you may have to take some time to see which one seems more natural to you.  Your selling style ties into the emotions that you feel comfortable using to generate a reaction in your customer.

The Classic Style
The classic style is a more matter of fact style that keeps you personally out of the sales story.  Your letter will stress emotional buttons and product benefits for your customer and says nothing about who you are or why your customer should pay attention to you.

This can be an effective style, but maybe you should consider introducing your customer to whom you are and raise the bar.

The Charismatic Flair
This approach relies heavily on using your personality, expertise and experience to  impress your prospect in addition to using emotional buttons and stressing benefits so that he can rely on what you say as being true.  Your personal story can go a long way toward making your prospect comfortable with your recommendation.

You should definitely consider throwing yourself into your sales letter.  You never know whom you just might sway into buying your product just because you are you.

It’s All a Matter of Confidence
In order to write a convincing sales message for your online money making business first you need to understand the three basic rules spelled out above.  Second you need to understand and decide on your style whether it will be classic, charismatic or a combination of both.

You must be confident in your product and be able to assist your customers make a sound buying decision.  You’re not just selling.  You are  selling to customers who you want to be happy they bought your product and happy they have it after they bought it.  So be confident and sound confident in your sales letter.

Use these tips when you write your next sales letter, and remember that anyone can learn to sell, but it takes practice.  So practice writing sales letters and you will be a success in your online money making business.

Online Money Making Possibilities – Should I Buy This Product or Not?

RuhsPancaThree

Every day we are inundated with emails about various online marketing possibilities, which basically pose to us this question.  Should we buy or not buy? Since these are marketing proposals, of course, they are loaded with hype.  Not to say that they are not legitimate proposals, but hyped none the less.

So how do we decide?  Here are some thoughts on an approach to making these decisions.

1. First of all is the product in line with your goals and objectives or will it divert you from the direction you are working toward?

2. If it is in line with your goals, do you have time to pursue it?  You have a planned work schedule, but is it already full or do you have time to take on a new project, even if it fits with your other projects?

3. Is this the time to buy this product?  Has it been tested in the market place.  Of course, part of the hype will come as “proof” that the seller has made a fortune from it while eating breakfast in his pajamas, but how long has it been on the market?  Can it really be that good?  Even if it fits your overall goals, maybe, you should wait to see if it lasts the test of time.

4. Of course, the price is always a consideration.  If it seems over priced, obviously, you will not buy, but if not, you have to decide if you can afford it.  In fact you may decide that it is such a good fit with your objectives, that you need to purchase it at any cost.  Then you will need to look for ways to accomplish that.  If the product truly is one of a kind that would help to complete your overall goals, then go for it.  Look for an imaginative way to finance it.  It almost always can be done.

This whole argument is hardly hypothetical.  I receive some thirty to fifty emails each day from internet marketers. Almost all of them contain either direct or veiled offers for internet marketing products.  It is almost impossible not to check out a few that sound intriguing.  And each time I have to go through the decision making process similar to the above.

So keep these questions in mind as you read offers that you receive , and make sue you have your eye on your goals and planned direction for your online marketing money making business and you think carefully about each one before you buy it.

Online Money Making Opportunities – What are the Best Online Money Making Opportunities?

There are many money making opportunities online.  Some are better than others, and some take a great deal of work to develop into something real.  Here is a list of the main ones that come to mind.  I am sure there are many more.
•    Paid Surveys.  If you “google” paid surveys, the top line will tell you that if you click there, you will find the top 50 surveys paying $25 to $75 per survey.   I don’t know, but I have tried my hand at paid surveys, and was really disappointed.  The survey’s that claimed to pay, didn’t really pay.  They just put your name in a hat for a chance that you your name will get drawn.  I never won anything except points for some later purchase of something that I didn’t want.  I guess some people actually make money this way, but I am not sure how.  But you can try this one.
•    Trading on eBay.  This seems to attract a lot of people, and it probably works reasonably well for the diligent marketer.  There are two versions.   One is to buy and sell hard merchandise.  The other is to sell things as an affiliate.  This is also called “drop ship” since you don’t actually take possession of the merchandise.  It is all handled by the seller.  If you are interested in getting started with eBay, try this out.
•    Article Marketing.  Again there are a couple of versions.  Articles are useful for drawing traffic to you web site for whatever you are marketing.  You can also include affiliate links in your article (as long as you are not publishing on ezines.com) and so this becomes a type of affiliate marketing. You might find this site interesting.
•    Email marketing.  The approach is to sell your product or products through email campaigns. To do this you must have a list of prospects.  You can buy lists, but more effective is to develop a list from previous marketing efforts.  Also, using a purchased list may be considered spam if you are using an  auto responder since you really don’t know if your list has any interest in your products or not. This site might  be useful in email marketing (and others).
•    Affiliate Marketing. Everyone knows what this is, but simply stated it is marketing some one else’s products through any of the means mentioned above.  I have heard that this has been a very successful approach for many marketers.  I think it is getting so competitive that it is much more difficult than it once was.  Here are some interesting affiliate marketing idea.
•    Selling Digital Products.  These products can either be purchased as resell rights products or produced by you.  To market these products they can be sold by any of the means discussed above, but also through you own web site or blog.  You can also use Hub Pages or Squidoo Lens’s in the same way. This ebook is a good example.

So take your pick!  Maybe even better is to gradually develop a number of  these online money making opportunities.  Certainly none of them is a magic bullet.  If you find one an opportunity that works for you, go for it and get it up and running.  Then you can expand to include other approaches and diversify until you have a well rounded internet marketing operation and solved the problem of which online money making opportunity you will go for.
